Holy Hannah in a handbasket! The mid-season finale was kinda epic. I must say I’m really enjoying to differences between the comic and the show. One the show has Daryl(I loves me some Norman Reedus) and two I really like watching Shane lose his humanity one crazy step at a time. I love how they’ve developed his character from the comic.

Now I must confess I’m not bothered about how they found Sophia, yeah it was tragic and to see Carol freak out was sooo sad. But a selfish part of me is happy that it didn’t go down like anything that I had in my head. I had thought that with Daryl’s dogged determination to find her that he would keep searching, and eventually find her and probably save her from walkers and return her to Carol. But in the process he would get bit and demand that the others put him down. That was my worst fear in watching week after week of him going out alone to find her.

Damn the writers stepped it up though, no one is safe. And as much as Shane is trying to gain control of everyone to his way of thinking, Rick straps his balls back on and does what no one else could do, shoot Walker Sophia in the head. Math is all well and good and you can say that is all you think it should come down to when the weak link isn’t right in front of you and you’re faced with what to do.

Shane had the choice of himself and Carl over dying with Otis and in the process taking Carl along, when you use math it’s easy. Shoot the fat man in the leg for bait and keep moving.

Put down a whole barn full of walkers, easy math. Put down the Walkerized little girl that everyone has been searching for right in front of her devastated mother, let Rick nut up.
